Issued 8:00 PM NST 9 November 2024 Tonight and Sunday At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight deepening low 979 mb located over thesoutheastern Grand Banks.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Sunday low 975 mb located east of Funk Island Bank.
At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight ridge located over the East Coast of
the U.S.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Sunday ridge located on a line northeast-southwest
over the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:49 PM NST 9 November 2024 A low pressure system over the Southeastern Grand Banks will move tolie east of Funk Island Bank by Sunday afternoon. Strong to gale
force southeasterlies can be expected ahead of the low, with gale to
storm force northeasterly to northwesterlies in its wake.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
East Coast, Northeast Coast, Belle Isle Bank, Funk Island Bank, and
Northern Grand Banks - western half. Gale warnings are in effect for
all remaining waters except Northeast Gulf.
Marine interests are also advised that large waves and pounding surf
will produce higher than normal water levels along the coast from
Bonavista Bay to Cape Race, especially near high tide tonight and
Sunday.
