Issued 8:00 PM AST 13 December 2019 Tonight and Saturday At 3:00 a.m. AST Saturday intensifying low 1004 mb located nearCape Hatteras.
By 10:00 a.m. AST Saturday low 990 mb located over New England.
By 10:00 a.m. AST Saturday trough from 990 mb low located over
the Gulf of Maine.
At 8:00 p.m. AST tonight ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over the eastern Marine District.
By 10:00 a.m. AST Saturday ridge located on a line
northwest-southeast over the Avalon Peninsula.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 5:32 AM AST 14 December 2019 A low pressure system will move north over the Eastern United Statesto lie over New England this evening and over Western Labrador by
Sunday evening. The warm front extending east from the low will move
north across the marine district to lie near Anticosti overnight
tonight and then depart. Strong to gale force southeasterlies north
of the front will veer to gale to storm force southerlies in its
wake. More storm warnings may need to be issued over slope waters
this morning.
The cold front from the low will extend south to Cape Cod this
evening and will move east to Banquereau by Sunday afternoon. Gale to
storm force southerlies ahead of it will veer to generally gale force
west to southwesterlies in its wake.
Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Laurentian Fan. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters.
Large waves approaching from the south, combined with storm surge,
may cause minor flooding from Yarmouth County east to Queens County.
The highest risk will be near high tide, which will be at noon on
sundau.
