Issued 3:00 AM AST 16 December 2019 Today Tonight and Tuesday At 3:00 a.m. AST today trough located over the Gulf of St. Lawrence.By 3:30 p.m. AST today departing trough located over Newfoundland.
At 8:00 p.m. AST tonight ridge located over New England.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Tuesday ridge located over the Maritimes.
At 8:00 p.m. AST Tuesday approaching trough located west of
Georges Bank.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 2:54 AM AST 16 December 2019 A trough extending southward over the Gulf of St. Lawrence will moveeast of Newfoundland today. Gale to storm force westerlies will
gradually diminish tonight and Tuesday.
Late Tuesday, another trough will approach the region from Southern
New England. Winds will become moderate easterlies ahead of the
trough and then increase to strong southeasterlies. There is a
possibility of gale force southerlies over the Scotian Slope waters
late Tuesday.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Sable, East Scotian Slope, Laurentian Fan, Cabot Strait, Gulf -
Magdalen - northeastern half and Anticosti. Gale warnings are in
effect for all remaining waters.
In addition, freezing spray warnings are in effect for Cabot Strait
and all of the Gulf of St. Lawrence waters.
