At 3:30 p.m. AST today ridge located over the Gulf of Maine.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Saturday ridge located over the eastern Marine
District.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:11 PM AST 5 December 2025 An intense low pressure northeast of Newfoundland will slowly trackeastward and away from the region while a ridge of high pressure over
the Gulf of Maine will move to lie over the eastern marine district
by Saturday evening. Gale to storm force northwesterlies are expected
between these two features.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Banquereau, Cabot Strait, Gulf-Magdalen - northeastern half, and
Anticosti - southeastern half. Gale warnings are in effect for
eastern shore - eastern half, Sable - eastern half, East Scotian
Slope - eastern half, Fourchu, Laurentian Fan, Northumberland Strait
- eastern half, Gulf - Magdalen - southwestern half, Chaleur - Miscou
- eastern half, and Anticosti - northwestern half.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Cabot Strait and all Gulf of St Lawrence waters.
