Issued 7:57 PM AST 12 January 2026 An intense low pressure system northeast of Newfoundland willcontinue tracking away from the marine area. Gale to storm force
westerlies in the wake of the low will diminish tonight as the low
pulls away.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Banquereau - northeastern half, Cabot Strait - northern half.
Gale warnings are in effect for southwestern shore,
LaHave Bank, eastern shore, Sable, East Scotian Slope, Fourchu,
Banquereau - southwestern half, Laurentian Fan, Cabot Strait -
southern half, Gulf - Magdalen, and Anticosti.
Additionally, freezing spray warnings are in effect for
Northumberland Strait, Chaleur-Miscou and Anticosti.
