Wind northeasterly 35 to 45 knots with gusts to 50 diminishing to southerly 35 late this evening then increasing to southwesterly 40 to 50 near midnight. Wind becoming southwesterly 35 to 45 late overnight then diminishing to southwest 25 Sunday morning. Wind diminishing to west 15 Sunday evening.

Rain changing to showers overnight and ending near noon Sunday.

Issued 8:00 PM ADT 8 May 2021 Tonight and Sunday At 8:00 p.m. ADT tonight low 983 mb located over Eastern Shore.
By 3:00 a.m. ADT Sunday low 984 mb located over Cape Breton Island.

At 10:00 a.m. ADT Sunday low 986 mb located over Cabot Strait.
By 8:00 p.m. ADT Sunday departing low 993 mb located over western
Newfoundland.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:23 PM ADT 8 May 2021 A low pressure system over West Scotian Slope will move to lie over
Cabot Strait overnight into Sunday morning and will then move into
Newfoundland and out of the marine district. Strong to gale force
northeasterly winds ahead of the low will increase to gale to storm
force west to northwesterlies south and west of the low. Winds will
gradually diminish through Sunday.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
West Scotian Slope, eastern shore - eastern half, Sable, East Scotian
Slope and Fourchu. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining
waters except Fundy, Chaleur - Miscou - western half and Anticosti -
western half.
