By 3:30 p.m. ADT Friday quasi-stationary low 1002 mb located
southwest of Georges Bank.
At 3:30 p.m. ADT today trough located over the southern Avalon
Peninsula.
By 3:00 a.m. ADT Friday departing trough located southeast of
Newfoundland.
At 3:00 a.m. ADT Friday quasi-stationary ridge located over the
northern Marine District.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 2:40 PM ADT 19 September 2024 A low pressure system south of Long Island will remainquasi-stationary tonight and Friday as it continues to deepen
southwest of the region. Strong to gale force northeasterly winds
will develop over parts of the southwestern marine district north of
the low tonight.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Browns Bank, Georges Bank - northern half, LaHave Bank - western
half, West Scotian Slope - northern half and East Scotian Slope -
western half.
