Issued 3:30 PM NST 7 February 2023 Tonight and Wednesday At 3:30 p.m. NST today quasi-stationary trough located on a linenortheast-southwest over the Grand Banks.
At 3:30 p.m. NST today low 983 mb located south of Nova Scotia.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Wednesday low 984 mb located over the southeastern
Grand Banks.
At 3:30 p.m. NST today quasi-stationary ridge located on a line
east-west over Belle Isle Bank.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:21 PM NST 7 February 2023 A trough of low pressure over the Southern Grand Banks will remainnearly stationary tonight. Strong to gale force northeasterlies are
expected north of the trough through the night with strong to gale
force southerlies south to the trough diminishing this evening.
A low pressure system south of Nova Scotia will cross the far
Southeastern Grand Banks on Wednesday. Over southern and eastern
waters strong to gale force northeasterlies and southerlies ahead of
the system shift to strong to gale force westerlies as it passes.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
South Coast, East Coast - Cape St. Francis and south, Funk Island
Bank, and the Grand Banks.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Gulf waters, Southwest Coast, East Coast - north of Cape
St. Francis, and Belle Isle Bank.
