By 3:00 a.m. NST Tuesday trough located on a line
northeast-southwest over the Grand Banks.
At 3:00 a.m. NST Tuesday approaching low 978 mb located south of
Nova Scotia.
At 10:00 a.m. NST today ridge located over Quebec.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Tuesday ridge located on a line east-west over
Belle Isle Bank.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:47 AM NST 6 February 2023 A trough of low pressure over Eastern Newfoundland will continueeastward to lie over the Grand Banks by Tuesday morning. Strong to
gale force southwesterlies ahead of the trough diminish to moderate
to strong north to northwesterlies in its wake.
On Tuesday a low pressure system will approach from the southwest.
Strong to gale force northeasterlies and southerlies will develop
over southern waters with this system.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
South Coast, East Coast, Funk Island Bank, and the Grand Banks.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Gulf waters, Southwest Coast, East Coast - north of Cape
St. Francis, and Belle Isle Bank.
