By 10:00 a.m. AST Sunday low 992 mb located near Prince Edward
Island.
At 8:00 p.m. AST tonight trough located near East Scotian Slope.
By 3:30 p.m. AST Sunday departing trough located east of the
Marine District.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:54 PM AST 23 January 2021 An area of low pressure continues to bring strong northwesterly windsover the eastern waters. The winds will weaken as the low moves
eastward into the Grand Banks. In the southern waters, a departing
trough will leave strong to gale force northwesterlies in its wake.
An intensifying low located over the Quebec North Shore will track
into the Gulf of St. Lawrence overnight. Winds will increase as the
low deepens. These strong winds will cause freezing spray in the
region.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Lurcher, Browns Bank, Georges Bank, West Scotian Slope, and
Laurentian Fan - southwestern half.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Fundy, Grand Manan, Northumberland Strait, Gulf-Magdalen,
Chaleur-Miscou, and Anticosti.
