By 3:30 p.m. AST Thursday departing ridge located from Labrador
to the Grand Banks.
At 3:00 a.m. AST Thursday intensifying low 996 mb located over
southern Ontario.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Thursday intensifying low 984 mb located over
Chaleur Bay.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:57 PM AST 4 December 2024 A low pressure system will rapidly intensify as it crosses theMaritimes on Thursday. Southerly winds will increase to gale to storm
force ahead of the low, with strong to gale force westerlies in its
wake.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Georges Bank - southern half, West Scotian Slope, eastern shore -
eastern half, Sable - eastern half, East Scotian Slope, Fourchu,
Banquereau, Laurentian Fan, Cabot Strait, Northumberland Strait -
eastern half, Gulf-Magdalen - eastern half, and Anticosti.
Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters.
Marine interests are also advised that a high water level warning is
in effect for Chaleur - Miscou - western half for high tide Thursday
afternoon and evening.
