Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 8:00 PM AST 17 January 2020 Tonight and Saturday At 8:00 p.m. AST tonight low 959 mb located over the Grand Banks.
By 10:00 a.m. AST Saturday low 957 mb located northeast of
Newfoundland.

At 3:00 a.m. AST Saturday ridge located west of the Marine District.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Saturday ridge located from Quebec to West
Scotian Slope.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 7:44 PM AST 17 January 2020 Gale to storm force northerlies will continue tonight across most of
the district as an intense low pressure system over the Grand Banks
moves slowly northward. Winds will diminish on Saturday as the low
moves out to sea and a ridge of high pressure approaches from the
west.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
eastern shore, Sable, East Scotian Slope, Fourchu, Banquereau,
Laurentian Fan, and Cabot Strait. Gale warnings are in effect for all
remaining regions except Fundy.

Freezing spray warnings are in effect for all waters except Georges
Bank.
