Rain beginning this evening with a risk of thunderstorms Friday morning and afternoon changing to showers Friday evening. Fog patches forming late this evening.

Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 8:00 PM ADT 14 May 2026 Tonight and Friday At 8:00 p.m. ADT tonight low 999 mb located near Georges Bank.
By 10:00 a.m. ADT Friday low 998 mb located south of Cape Breton
Island.

At 8:00 p.m. ADT Friday quasi-stationary low 1000 mb located over
Cabot Strait.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:22 PM ADT 14 May 2026 A low pressure system southwest of the marine district will track
northeastward across southern waters tonight and Friday to lie near
Cabot Strait Friday evening. Strong to gale force easterly winds
north of the low shift to strong to gale force southerlies to its
south.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Browns Bank, Georges Bank, southwestern shore, LaHave Bank, West
Scotian Slope, eastern shore, Sable, East Scotian Slope, Fourchu,
Banquereau, Laurentian Fan, Cabot Strait and Gulf-Magdalen
southeastern - half.
