Marine Weather Statement

Issued 4:14 AM ADT 10 April 2020 An intense low pressure system will track through the Bay of Fundy
this morning then lie over the Gulf of St. Lawrence this evening.
The low will track slowly northeastward on Saturday. Gale to storm
force easterly winds ahead of the disturbance will become strong to
gale force westerlies in its wake.

In addition, due to a series of abnormally high astronomical tides,
this system will bring higher than normal water levels and a
likelihood of coastal flooding again to the Yarmouth area at high
tide around noon. This will also occur for Miramichi northward to
the Acadian Peninsula and the Bay of Chaleur this morning and near
noon along the coasts of iles de la Madeleine. Higher than normal
water levels and rough surf is expected along the Atlantic Coast at
high tide this morning. There may also be some minor flooding along
parts of the Northumberland Strait coast of Prince Edward Island near
noon. Finally, there may be some coastal erosion and damage due to
rough and pounding surf along east facing shorelines in the Gulf of
St. Lawrence, especially for Northern New Brunswick, Gaspésie and
iles de la Madeleine.

Marine interest are advised that high water level warnings are in
effect for Lurcher, Chaleur-Miscou and Gulf - Magdalen.

Marine interests are also advised that storm warnings are in effect
for Cabot Strait, Gulf-Magdalen, Chaleur-Miscou and Anticosti -
southeastern half. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining
waters.
