Issued 3:00 AM AST 19 January 2026 Today Tonight and Tuesday At 3:00 a.m. AST today intensifying low 996 mb located over West
Scotian Slope.
By 3:30 p.m. AST today low 981 mb located over eastern Newfoundland.

At 3:30 p.m. AST today low located over the Gulf of Maine.
By 3:30 p.m. AST Tuesday low located over the northeastern Gulf
of St. Lawrence.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:43 AM AST 19 January 2026 A low pressure system over West Scotian Slope this morning will track
northeastward to lie over Newfoundland this afternoon. Strong to gale
force northeasterlies are expected north of the low's track and gale
to storm force southwesterlies south of the low's track.

A second low over the Gulf of Maine this afternoon will move
northeast to lie over the Northeastern Gulf of St Lawrence Tuesday
afternoon. Strong to gale force southwest to westerlies are expected
south and west of this low.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
East Scotian Slope - southern half and Laurentian Fan. Gale warnings
are in effect for Lurcher, Browns Bank, Georges Bank, southwestern
shore, LaHave Bank, West Scotian Slope, eastern shore, Sable, East
Scotian Slope - northern half, Fourchu, Banquereau, Cabot Strait, and
Anticosti.

Marine interests are advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Fundy, Grand Manan, and all Gulf of St Lawrence waters.
