Issued 3:00 AM AST 2 March 2021 Today Tonight and Wednesday At 3:00 a.m. AST today low 974 mb located near Îles-de-la-Madeleine.By 10:00 a.m. AST today low 966 mb located near Anticosti Island.
At 8:00 p.m. AST tonight low 964 mb located north of Cape Breton
Island.
By 10:00 a.m. AST Wednesday departing low 976 mb located over
eastern Newfoundland.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 4:26 AM AST 2 March 2021 An intense low pressure system near the Magdalen Islands willcontinue to deepen this morning as it briefly stalls over Anticosti
Island. Tonight, the low will begin tracking east-southeast to lie
over Eastern Newfoundland by Wednesday morning. Gale to storm force
southeasterlies ahead of the low will transition to gale to storm
force northwesterlies in its wake. Winds are expected to gradually
diminish through the day Wednesday as the low departs.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Grand Manan, Lurcher, Browns Bank, Georges Bank, West Scotian Slope,
East Scotian Slope, Cabot Strait, Gulf-Magdalen, Chaleur-Miscou and
Anticosti-western-half. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining
maritime waters. Freezing spray warnings are also in effect for all
ice-free waters.
