Marine Weather Statement
Issued 2:46 AM AST 18 February 2026 An intense low pressure system over the Southern Grand Banks willcontinue moving northeastward into the Labrador Sea tonight. Gale to
storm force northerlies over extreme eastern waters diminish to
strong to gale force westerlies this morning. Strong northerlies will
persist for most of the region until Thursday afternoon when a ridge
of high pressure moves in from the west.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Banquereau - southeastern half and Laurentian Fan - eastern half.
Gale warnings are in effect for Banquereau - northwestern half and
Laurentian Fan - western half.
