By 3:00 a.m. NST Thursday low 972 mb located over eastern Labrador
Sea.
At 3:00 a.m. NST today trough from low located over the Gulf of
St. Lawrence.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Thursday trough from low located on a line
northeast-southwest over the Grand Banks.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Thursday approaching trough located over the
St. Lawrence River.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 2:59 AM NST 11 December 2019 A low pressure system over Central Labrador Sea will move slowlyeastward today and deepen. A trough extending southwest from the low
will cross Newfoundland this morning to lie over the Grand Banks by
this evening. Gale force southwesterlies will shift to generally
strong to gale force west to northwesterlies, except storm force over
Belle Isle Bank, behind the trough today.
A second trough of low pressure will cross the island on Thursday.
Strong to gale force westerlies can be expected south of this
feature.
Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Belle Isle Bank. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining
waters.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, Northeast Coast, Belle
Isle Bank and Funk Island Bank.
