ice west of the ice edge.

Ice Coverage

9 tenths grey-white ice except 9 tenths grey-white ice including 1
tenth first-year ice in the extreme northern section. Consolidated
grey-white ice in a few sheltered bays.

Issued 10:08 PM NST 6 February 2026 Tonight and Saturday At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight low 989 mb located north of Belle Isle
Bank.
By 8:00 p.m. NST Saturday weakening low 995 mb located over
Labrador Coast.

At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight low 965 mb located southwest of the
Grand Banks.
By 8:00 p.m. NST Saturday low 964 mb located east of the Grand
Banks.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 7:54 PM NST 6 February 2026 Strong to gale force northwesterlies over northern waters will
diminish overnight as the system moves away.

An intensifying low pressure system will approach the marine district
from the southwest tonight. Gale to storm force north to
northeasterlies will develop tonight over southern waters ahead of
this system.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
the Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters
except Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, and the Northeast Coast.

Marine interests are also advised that a freezing spray warning is in
effect for Belle Isle Bank.
