Issued 10:00 AM NST 23 January 2022 Today Tonight and Monday At 10:00 a.m. NST today low 983 mb located over the southern
Grand Banks.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Monday departing low 977 mb located south of
Greenland.

At 3:00 a.m. NST Monday approaching low 1005 mb located south of
the Maritimes.

At 10:00 a.m. NST today ridge located on a line east-west over
Belle Isle Bank.
By 3:30 p.m. NST today dissipating ridge located on a line
northeast-southwest over Belle Isle Bank.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:46 AM NST 23 January 2022 An intense low pressure system over the Southern Grand Banks will
track northeast today to depart to the northeast of the marine
district tonight. Gale to storm force easterly to southerly winds
over southeastern waters ahead of the low will shift to strong to
gale force northwesterlies this evening before diminishing overnight
in its wake.

A second low will approach from the southwest on Monday. Strong to
gale force southeasterlies will develop over southern waters on
Monday ahead of the low.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
the Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in effect for South Coast, East
Coast - Cape St. Francis and south, and Funk Island Bank.
