By 3:00 a.m. NST Monday trough located on a line east-west over
Belle Isle Bank.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Monday approaching trough located on a line
north-south over the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
At 10:00 a.m. NST today departing ridge located east of Belle
Isle Bank.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:43 AM NST 15 December 2019 A trough of low pressure over the Gulf of St. Lawrence will slowlytrack northward across the marine district today. Strong to gale
force east to southeasterlies ahead of the trough will shift to
strong to gale force south to southwesterlies in its wake.
A second trough will approach from the west on Monday. Strong to gale
force south to southwesterlies will increase to gale to storm force
westerlies overnight and Monday with this feature.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Gulf - Port au Port, Southwest Coast, South Coast, and East Coast -
Cape St. Francis and south. Gale warnings are in effect for all
remaining waters.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle and Gulf waters.
