Issued 8:00 PM NST 11 December 2019 Tonight and Thursday At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight quasi-stationary low 968 mb located overeastern Labrador Sea.
At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight trough located on a line
northeast-southwest over the Grand Banks.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Thursday departing trough from low located
southeast of the Grand Banks.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Thursday approaching trough located over the
St. Lawrence River.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:48 PM NST 11 December 2019 A trough of low pressure over the Grand Banks will slowly trackeastward tonight and exit the marine district by Thursday morning.
Gale force southwesterlies can be expected ahead of the trough, with
generally strong to gale force west to northwesterlies in its wake,
except storm force westerlies over Belle Isle Bank tonight.
A second trough of low pressure will cross the island on Thursday.
Strong to gale force westerlies can be expected south of this
feature.
Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Belle Isle Bank. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters
except Northeast Gulf, Northeast Coast and Funk Island Bank.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, Northeast Coast, Belle
Isle Bank, and Funk Island Bank.
