Synopsis

Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 8:00 PM NST 6 November 2025 Tonight and Friday At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight deepening low 967 mb located over the
eastern Avalon Peninsula.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Friday quasi-stationary low 956 mb located
northeast of Funk Island Bank.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 8:02 PM NST 6 November 2025 An intense low pressure system over the Eastern Avalon Peninsula will
continue to deepen as it tracks northeastward across the Northern
Grand Banks tonight. The low will then move to lie northeast of Funk
Island Bank by Friday afternoon where it will stall. Strong to gale
force southeasterlies to northeasterlies ahead of the low will shift
to storm to hurricane force northwesterlies behind the low.
Winds will diminish to strong to gale force westerlies to
northwesterlies as the low pulls away on Friday.

Large waves and pounding surf will produce higher than normal water
levels along coastal areas of South Coast, East Coast, and Northeast
Coast through Friday, especially near high tides.

Marine interests are advised that hurricane force wind warnings are
in effect for the Grand Banks. Storm warnings are in effect for South
Coast and East Coast - Cape St. Francis and south. Gale warnings are
in effect for all remaining waters.

Marine interests are also advised that a high water level warning is
in effect for South Coast.
