Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 3:30 PM NST 15 January 2026 Tonight and Friday At 3:30 p.m. NST today low 990 mb located over Maine.
By 10:00 a.m. NST Friday departing low 984 mb located over eastern
Labrador Sea.

At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight deepening low 997 mb located southeast
of Cape Cod.
By 8:00 p.m. NST Friday low 966 mb located over southwestern Belle
Isle Bank.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:30 PM NST 15 January 2026 A low pressure system will approach from the southwest tonight and
cross the marine district on Friday. Gale to storm force south to
southwesterlies are expected to the right of the low's track with
gale force northeasterlies to it's left.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Southwest Coast and South Coast. Gale warnings are in effect for all
remaining waters except Gulf - Port au Port.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for the Strait of Belle Isle and Northeast Gulf.
