Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 3:30 PM NST 6 February 2026 Tonight and Saturday At 3:30 p.m. NST today low 987 mb located northeast of Belle
Isle Bank.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Saturday low 993 mb located over southern
Labrador Sea.

At 3:30 p.m. NST today intensifying low 976 mb located southwest
of the Grand Banks.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Saturday low 962 mb located over the southeastern
Grand Banks.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:19 PM NST 6 February 2026 A low pressure system northeast of Belle Isle Bank will track
westward over the Labrador Sea this evening. Strong to gale force
northwesterlies associated with this system will diminish overnight
over Belle Isle Bank tonight.

An intensifying low pressure system will approach the marine district
from the southwest tonight. Gale to storm force north to
northeasterlies will develop tonight over southern waters ahead of
this system.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
the Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters
except Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, and the Northeast Coast.

Marine interests are also advised that a freezing spray warning is in
effect for Belle Isle Bank.
