Issued 9:30 PM NDT 21 May 2026 Tonight and Friday At 9:30 p.m. NDT tonight low 984 mb located northeast of BelleIsle Bank.
By 4:00 p.m. NDT Friday quasi-stationary low 983 mb located south
of Greenland.
At 9:30 p.m. NDT tonight trough located on a line
northwest-southeast over Labrador Sea.
By 4:00 p.m. NDT Friday trough located on a line east-west over
Belle Isle Bank.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:20 PM NDT 21 May 2026 A low pressure system northeast of Belle Isle Bank will move east tosit southeast of the region tonight. Strong to gale force
northwesterlies over southern waters will persist behind it.
Meanwhile, a trough extending from the low will sweep southward
across the Labrador Sea tonight. Strong to gale force northerlies to
northwesterlies ahead of the trough will veer to strong to gale force
easterlies to northeasterlies as it passes. Winds will then back to
the northwest as the trough moves away.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters except Lake Melville.
