Issued 10:00 AM NST 18 January 2020 Today Tonight and Sunday At 10:00 a.m. NST today low 957 mb located east of Belle Isle Bank.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Sunday departing low 956 mb located east of
Greenland.

At 3:00 a.m. NST Sunday approaching low 1007 mb located near
Cape Cod.

At 10:00 a.m. NST today ridge located over New England.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Sunday ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over the Gulf of St. Lawrence.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:53 AM NST 18 January 2020 An exceptionally intense low pressure system just east of the Belle
Isle Bank will move further away from the marine district today.
Storm force to hurricane force winds in the wake of the low will
diminish today and tonight as the low moves away and a ridge of high
pressure approaches from the west.

A second low will approach the marine district from the southwest on
Sunday. Gale force east to southeasterlies will develop over southern
waters ahead of the low by Sunday evening.

Marine interests are advised that hurricane force wind warnings are
in effect for Belle Isle Bank and Funk Island Bank. Storm warnings
are in effect for Strait of Belle Isle - eastern half, East Coast -
north of Cape St. Francis, Northeast Coast and Northern Grand Banks.
Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters.

Marine interests are further advised that high water level warnings
are in effect for East Coast and Northeast Coast.
