Marine Weather StatementIssued 2:44 AM NST 21 January 2021 An intensifying low pressure system south of Nova Scotia will track
across the Grand Banks later today. Gale to storm force east to
northeasterly winds ahead of the low will shift to storm to hurricane
force west to northwesterlies in its wake.
Marine interests are advised that a hurricane force warning is in
effect for Southwestern Grand Banks. Storm warnings are in effect for
Northern Grand Banks and Southeastern Grand Banks. Gale warnings are
in effect for South Coast, East Coast, Northeast Coast, Funk Island
Bank, and Belle Isle Bank.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle and Gulf waters.
