Technical Marine Synopsis
Issued 3:30 PM NST 3 March 2021 Tonight and Thursday At 3:30 p.m. NST today low 979 mb located near The BonavistaPeninsula.
By 8:00 p.m. NST tonight dissipating low 982 mb located over
western Funk Island Bank.
At 3:30 p.m. NST today quasi-stationary low 976 mb located over
southeastern Labrador.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:25 PM NST 3 March 2021 A low pressure system near the Bonavista Peninsula will continuenortheastward to lie over Western Funk Island Bank this evening where
it will dissipate. Gale force west to southwesterly winds are
expected south of the low.
Meanwhile, a second low pressure system over Southeastern Labrador
will remain nearly stationary for the next couple of days. This low
will cause the strong to gale force west to southwesterly winds to
persist over the marine district tonight and Thursday.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except South Coast, East Coast - Cape St.
Francis and south, and the Grand Banks.
