Issued 3:00 AM NST 21 January 2026 Today Tonight and Thursday At 3:00 a.m. NST today deepening low 979 mb located over southern
Labrador Sea.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Thursday low 975 mb located southeast of Labrador
Sea.

By 10:00 a.m. NST Thursday deepening low 1014 mb located over
southern New Brunswick.

At 3:30 p.m. NST today ridge located on a line north-south over
eastern Quebec.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Thursday ridge located on a line
northwest-southeast over Newfoundland.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:52 AM NST 21 January 2026 A low pressure system over the Southern Labrador Sea will continue to
deepen as it remains nearly stationary today. The low will then
slowly track eastwards away from the district tonight and Thursday.
Generally, gale to storm force westerlies are expected over all
waters with this system. Winds will gradually diminish from west to
east tonight and Thursday as a ridge builds in from the west.

A second low pressure system will approach the district from the west
behind the ridge. Strong to gale force southwesterlies will develop
over southern waters with this low late on Thursday.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Northeast Coast, belle island bank, and Funk Island Bank.
Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except the Southern Grand Banks.
