Issued 3:00 AM NST 8 March 2021 Today Tonight and Tuesday At 3:00 a.m. NST today trough located over southern Labrador Sea.By 8:00 p.m. NST tonight trough located over Belle Isle Bank.
At 3:00 a.m. NST today deepening low 1008 mb located south of Cape
Breton Island.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Tuesday low 980 mb located south of the Grand
Banks.
At 3:00 a.m. NST today ridge located on a line east-west over the
Grand Banks.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Tuesday ridge located on a line east-west over
Funk Island Bank.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 2:48 AM NST 8 March 2021 A trough of low pressure over the South Labrador Sea will movesoutheastward today then depart east of Belle Isle Bank tonight.
Strong to gale force northwesterlies are expected over northern
waters tonight in the wake of the trough.
A deepening low pressure system will track northeastward today to lie
south of the Grand Banks tonight. Strong to gale force northeasterly
winds will develop over southern waters tonight ahead of the low then
switch to a gale to storm force northwesterly in its wake on Tuesday.
Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Southeastern Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in effect for Belle Isle
Bank, Northern Grand Banks and Southwestern Grand Banks.
Marine interests are advised that a freezing spray warning is in
effect for Belle Isle Bank.
