Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 3:30 PM NDT 12 March 2026 Tonight and Friday At 3:30 p.m. NDT today deepening low 995 mb located over the Gulf
of St. Lawrence.
By 3:30 p.m. NDT Friday low 984 mb located over the Northeast
Coast of Newfoundland.

At 3:30 p.m. NDT today departing ridge located on a line
northwest-southeast over Belle Isle Bank.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:14 PM NDT 12 March 2026 A deepening low pressure system over the Gulf of St. Lawrence will
move over Western Newfoundland tonight and stall before moving across
the Northeast Coast and Belle Isle Bank late in the day on Friday.
Strong to gale force northeasterlies to southeasterlies are expected
north of the low tonight with strong to gale force southwesterlies to
its south. As the low rapidly deepens on Friday, gale to storm force
northwesterlies to southwesterlies will develop to its south.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
East Coast, Northeast Coast, Belle Isle Bank, and Funk Island Bank.
Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, Southwest Coast,
Northeast Coast, and Belle Isle Bank.
