Issued 3:00 AM NST 24 January 2026 Today Tonight and Sunday At 3:00 a.m. NST today low 992 mb located over southern Belle
Isle Bank.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Sunday low 974 mb located east of Belle Isle Bank.

At 10:00 a.m. NST today trough from low located on a line
northeast-southwest over the Grand Banks.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Sunday trough from low located east of the
Grand Banks.

At 3:00 a.m. NST Sunday ridge located over southern Quebec.
By 8:00 p.m. NST Sunday ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over the Maritimes.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:02 AM NST 24 January 2026 A low pressure system over Belle Isle Bank will continue to track
eastward to lie east of the district this afternoon. Strong to gale
force westerlies to southwesterlies will persist south of the low
today. Winds will shift to gale to storm force westerlies to
northwesterlies in the wake of the low as a ridge of high pressure
builds west of the region tonight and Sunday.

Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Belle Isle Bank. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters
except Strait of Belle Isle and Northeast Gulf.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters.
