At 3:00 a.m. NDT today ridge located on a line north-south over
the eastern Grand Banks.
By 10:00 a.m. NDT today departing ridge located east of the
Grand Banks.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 2:54 AM NDT 14 April 2026 A low pressure system over the Gulf of St. Lawrence will trackeastward across Newfoundland and the Northern Grand Banks today.
Strong to gale force southwesterlies will spread over the Southern
Grand Banks as a result of this low, and will diminish tonight as a
ridge of high pressure builds in from the west.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for the
Southern Grand Banks.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Northeast Coast, and Belle Isle
Bank.
