Wind south 20 knots and locally gusts to 30 along the coast. Wind diminishing to south 10 to 15 this afternoon then veering to west 20 this evening. Wind veering to northwest 15 to 20 late overnight then to north 10 to 15 Tuesday morning except north 20 over eastern sections.

Showers tonight. Snow or freezing rain Tuesday afternoon and evening. Fog patches dissipating this evening. Visibility 1 mile or less in fog patches and as low as 1 mile in precipitation.

Temperatures plus 2 falling to minus 3 Tuesday morning.

Cabot Strait.
By 10:00 a.m. NDT Tuesday trough located on a line north-south
over the eastern Grand Banks.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:44 AM NDT 20 April 2026 A trough of low pressure over the Cabot Strait will slowly track
eastward across Newfoundland today before lying over the Eastern
Grand Banks by Tuesday morning. Strong to gale force southerlies
ahead of the trough will shift to strong westerlies to northerlies in
its wake.

Marine interests are advised that a gale warning is in effect for
Gulf - Port au Port.
