Issued 6:44 PM ADT 14 July 2026 Conditions are favourable for the development of squalls with wind gusts up to 35 knots, frequent lightning and poor to very poor visibility in showers heavy at times.


Mariners are advised to prepare for potential squalls. Vulnerable vessels are most at risk and should seek safe harbour if underway. Consider delaying or postponing travel in areas under the Squall Watch.

Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 3:30 PM ADT 14 July 2026 Tonight and Wednesday At 3:30 p.m. ADT today trough located from Labrador to New England.
By 8:00 p.m. ADT tonight intensifying trough located from Anticosti
Island to the Gulf of Maine.

At 3:30 p.m. ADT Wednesday trough located over Newfoundland to
Georges Bank.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:17 PM ADT 14 July 2026 A trough of low pressure northwest of the region will intensify as it
tracks across the Maritimes tonight to lie over southeastern waters
Wednesday afternoon. Strong southwest winds will strengthen to gale
force over southeastern waters on Wednesday ahead of the approaching
trough.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Georges Bank, West Scotian Slope, Sable, East Scotian Slope,
Banquereau, and Laurentian Fan.
