Issued 3:30 PM AST 11 December 2025 Tonight and Friday At 3:30 p.m. AST today trough located on a line northeast-southwestover Laurentian Fan.
By 8:00 p.m. AST tonight departing trough located over the Grand
Banks.
At 3:30 p.m. AST today low 984 mb located near Anticosti Island.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Friday departing low 968 mb located over Labrador
Sea.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:20 PM AST 11 December 2025 A trough of low pressure over Laurentian Fan is departing the areaand will lie over the Grand Banks by late this evening. Strong to
gale force southerly winds associated with this feature are
diminishing.
A low pressure system near Anticosti Island will continue slowly
moving north-northeastward to lie over the Strait of Belle Isle by
Friday afternoon. Strong to gale force westerly winds will
Intensify south of the low. On Friday, westerly winds will intensify
to storm force strength over southeastern waters. Winds will begin to
diminish Friday night as the low departs the region to the northeast.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
East Scotian Slope and Laurentian Fan. Gale warnings are in effect
for all remaining waters.
Additionally, freezing spray warnings are in effect for Fundy, Grand
Manan, Northumberland Strait, Gulf-Magdalen, Chaleur-Miscou and
Anticosti - northwestern half.
