By 8:00 p.m. AST tonight low 967 mb located near the Avalon
Peninsula.
At 3:00 a.m. AST Friday low 961 mb located northeast of
Newfoundland.
At 3:00 a.m. AST Friday approaching ridge located west of the
Marine District.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:10 PM AST 6 November 2025 An intense low pressure system over Banquereau at forecast time willtrack northeast to lie near the Avalon Peninsula by Friday morning
then continue to track northeast and away from the region. Gale to
storm force westerly winds are expected south of the low with gale to
hurricane force north to northwest winds in its wake.
Marine interests are advised that hurricane force wind warnings are
in effect for Banquereau and Laurentian Fan - northeastern half.
Storm warnings are in effect for Georges Bank, West Scotian Slope,
eastern shore - eastern half, Sable - eastern half, Fourchu, East
Scotian Slope and Laurentian Fan - southwestern half. Gale warnings
are in effect for all remaining waters except Fundy and Grand Manan.
