Issued 4:00 AM NDT 21 May 2026 Today Tonight and Friday At 4:00 a.m. NDT today low 989 mb located over eastern Labrador.By 4:00 a.m. NDT Friday low 983 mb located east of Belle Isle Bank.
At 9:30 a.m. NDT today trough located on a line north-south over
the East Labrador Sea.
By 9:30 a.m. NDT Friday trough located on a line east-west over
the South Labrador Coast.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:55 AM NDT 21 May 2026 A low pressure system over Eastern Labrador will cross Belle IsleBank today then move southeast of the region tonight. Strong to gale
force southeasterlies ahead of the low shift to strong to gale force
northwesterlies behind it.
Meanwhile, a trough extending from the low will sweep westward then
southward across the Labrador Sea later today and tonight. Strong to
gale force northerlies to northwesterlies ahead of the trough veer to
strong to gale force easterlies to northeasterlies as it passes.
Winds will then back to the northwest as the trough moves away.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters.
