At 10:00 a.m. NST today trough from low located on a line
northwest-southeast over the East Labrador Sea.
By 10:00 a.m. NST Wednesday trough located south of the East
Labrador Sea.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 4:01 AM NST 13 January 2026 A low pressure system east of Belle Isle Bank will tracknortheastward today to lie southeast of Greenland tonight and
Wednesday. A trough extending from the low will retrograde westward
across the Labrador Sea today. Gale to storm force northeasterlies to
northwesterlies will continue today and gradually diminish tonight or
Wednesday as the low passes to the southeast and the associated
trough moves across the district.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
South Labrador Coast and South Labrador Sea - southern half.
Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters except Lake
Melville.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all regions with open water except East Labrador Sea.
