Issued 9:30 AM NST 29 January 2022 Today Tonight and Sunday At 9:30 a.m. NST today trough located north of Labrador Sea.
By 9:30 p.m. NST tonight departing trough located north of
Labrador Sea.

At 9:30 p.m. NST tonight deepening low 975 mb located southwest
of Nova Scotia.
By 9:30 p.m. NST Sunday low 959 mb located over the South Labrador
Sea.

At 9:30 a.m. NST today ridge located on a line east-west over
central Labrador.
By 9:30 a.m. NST Sunday ridge located on a line east-west over
northern Labrador Sea.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:21 AM NST 29 January 2022 A trough of low pressure north of the marine district will drift
slowly northward today. Strong to gale force southwesterlies over the
Northwest Labrador Sea will diminish tonight as a ridge of high
pressure builds northward across the district.

A very intense low pressure system moving up the Eastern Seaboard
will track across the Maritimes tonight and across Southeastern
Labrador on Sunday to lie over the South Labrador Sea by Sunday
evening. Gale to storm force northeasterlies will spread across most
waters overnight into Sunday ahead of the low then shift to gale to
storm force northwesterlies to southwesterlies in its wake.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
all waters except Lake Melville and North Labrador Coast where gale
warnings are in effect.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all areas with open water.
