Issued 8:00 PM NST 16 January 2026 Tonight and Saturday At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight deepening low 968 mb located over Belle
Isle Bank.
By 8:00 p.m. NST Saturday low 950 mb located east of Labrador Sea.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 7:59 PM NST 16 January 2026 An intense low pressure system over Belle Isle Bank will continue
northeastwards tonight to lie east of the Labrador Sea by late in the
day Saturday. Gale to storm force south to southwesterlies are
expected east of track with strong to gale force north to
northeasterlies to the west. Winds will then shift to gale to storm
force west to southwesterlies as the low passes.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
all waters except Gulf waters and Northeast Coast where gale warnings
are in effect.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, East Coast, Northeast
Coast, Belle Isle Bank, and Funk Island Bank.
