By 8:00 p.m. NST Thursday departing low 987 mb located over the
Atlantic Ocean.

At 3:30 p.m. NST Thursday low 1006 mb located over Prince Edward
Island.
By 8:00 p.m. NST Thursday low 1001 mb located off the Port au
Port Peninsula.

At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight ridge located from Hudson Bay to the
Maritimes.
By 8:00 p.m. NST Thursday ridge located on a line
northwest-southeast over Labrador.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 7:57 PM NST 21 January 2026 A low pressure system south of Greenland will remain nearly
stationary tonight before tracking eastward over the North Atlantic
on Thursday. Meanwhile, a ridge of high pressure from Hudson Bay to
the Maritimes will continue to track eastward. Generally, gale to
storm force westerlies are expected over all waters between these two
features. Winds will gradually diminish from west to east tonight and
Thursday as the ridge builds in from the west.

A second low pressure system will form over the Maritimes and
approach the district late on Thursday. Strong to gale force
southwesterlies will develop over southern waters with this low late
on Thursday.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Northeast Coast, Belle Isle Bank, and Funk Island Bank. Gale warnings
are in effect for all remaining waters.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except the Southern Grand Banks.
