Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 3:00 AM NST 9 December 2023 Today Tonight and Sunday At 3:00 a.m. NST today quasi-stationary low 952 mb located east
of the Marine District.

At 3:00 a.m. NST today ridge located from Ungava Bay to New England.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Sunday ridge located on a line north-south over
the Gulf of St. Lawrence.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:46 AM NST 9 December 2023 A low pressure system east of Belle Isle Bank will remain nearly
stationary today and tonight before finally departing to the east
late Sunday. Strong to gale force northwesterlies over eastern waters
will increase to gale to storm force this morning, while strong to
gale force northwesterlies over western waters will gradually
diminish. Winds will diminish over all waters through Sunday as a
ridge moves in from the west.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Belle Isle Bank and Funk Island Bank. Gale warnings are in effect for
all remaining waters.

Marine interests are also advised that large waves, pounding surf and
higher than normal water levels are possible during high tide this
morning and again early this evening along portions of the East Coast
and Northeast Coast from Cape St. Francis to Cape St. John.
