By 3:00 a.m. AST Friday low 977 mb located over Anticosti Island.
At 3:30 p.m. AST Friday low 967 mb located over Labrador.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:21 PM AST 5 December 2024 A low pressure system will rapidly intensify as it crosses theMaritimes tonight. Gale to storm force southerly winds ahead of the
low will veer to strong to gale force westerlies in its wake.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Georges Bank - southern half, West Scotian Slope, eastern shore -
eastern half, Sable - eastern half, East Scotian Slope, Fourchu,
Banquereau, Laurentian Fan, Cabot Strait, Northumberland Strait -
eastern half, and Gulf-Magdalen - eastern half. Gale warnings are in
effect for all remaining waters except Fundy.
Marine interests are also advised that a high water level warning is
in effect for Chaleur - Miscou - western half for high tide this
afternoon and early evening. Freezing spray warnings are in effect
for Northumberland Strait - western half, Chaleur-Miscou and
Anticosti.
