By 8:00 p.m. NDT Sunday low 985 mb located east of Funk Island Bank.
At 8:00 p.m. NDT tonight ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over Funk Island Bank.
By 10:00 a.m. NDT Sunday departing ridge located northeast of the
Marine District.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:48 PM NDT 14 March 2026 A low pressure system over Cape Breton Island will track acrossEastern Newfoundland tonight and lie east of Funk Island Bank by
Sunday evening. Strong to gale force northeast to southeasterly winds
are expected north of this low while strong to gale force
southwesterlies are expected south of it. Winds will shift to gale to
storm force northwesterlies in the wake of the low late on Sunday.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Funk Island Bank and Northern Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in
effect for all remaining waters except Strait of Belle Isle and
Northeast Gulf.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Gulf waters, Northeast Coast, Belle Isle Bank, and Funk
Island Bank.
