Issued 3:00 AM NST 13 December 2019 Today Tonight and Saturday At 3:00 a.m. NST today trough located on a line northeast-southwestover southern Labrador Sea.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Saturday departing trough located east of the
Marine District.
At 3:00 a.m. NST today departing trough located over Funk Island
Bank.
At 3:00 a.m. NST today ridge located over the Maritimes.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Saturday ridge located on a line
northwest-southeast over the southern Grand Banks.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 2:54 AM NST 13 December 2019 A fast-moving trough of low pressure over Funk Island Bank will moveto lie east of the district by later this morning. Strong to gale
force westerlies south and west of this feature are expected to
diminish this morning.
A second trough over the South Labrador Sea will move southeastward
across the northern marine district today. Gale force westerlies over
northeastern waters will shift to strong to gale force
northwesterlies as the trough passes. Winds will diminish early on
Saturday as the trough departs to the east.
A third trough will approach from the west on Saturday. Strong to
gale force southeasterlies will develop ahead of the trough over
southwestern waters late in the period.
Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Belle Isle Bank. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters
except the Gulf waters.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except the Southern Grand Banks.
