By 10:00 a.m. NST Wednesday low 954 mb located northeast of the
Marine District.
At 10:00 a.m. NST today ridge located south of the Maritimes.
By 10:00 a.m. NST Wednesday ridge located south of the Grand Banks.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:52 AM NST 9 December 2025 An intense low pressure system east of Funk Island Bank will continuerapidly deepening today as it tracks northeastward away from the
district. Storm to hurricane force northwesterlies in the wake of the
low, along with strong to gale force southwesterlies to its south,
will diminish to strong to gale force west to northwesterlies as the
system departs.
Marine interests are advised that a hurricane force wind warning is
in effect for Funk Island Bank. Gale warnings are in effect for all
remaining waters except Strait of Belle Isle, Northeast Gulf, and
Northeast Coast - north of Cape St. John.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except Southwest Coast and the Southern Grand
Banks.
