By 10:00 a.m. NST Sunday departing low 975 mb located east of
Labrador Sea.
At 3:00 a.m. NST Sunday approaching low 1010 mb located near
Îles-de-la-Madeleine.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 10:01 AM NST 17 January 2026 An intense low pressure system over the East Labrador Sea will departeast of the Labrador Sea by Sunday morning. Gale to storm force west
to southwesterlies will diminish tonight and into Sunday morning as
the low departs.
A second low pressure system will move across the island on Sunday.
Strong to gale force southwesterlies will develop over southern
waters on Sunday, south of this feature.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Strait of Belle Isle, bell isle bank, and Funk Island Bank.
Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except Southwest Coast, South Coast, and the
Grand Banks.
