By 8:00 p.m. NST Tuesday departing low 990 mb located southeast
of Greenland.
At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight ridge located over the Maritimes.
By 8:00 p.m. NST Tuesday ridge located over Newfoundland.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:14 PM NST 9 December 2024 An intensifying low pressure system located over Strait of Belle Islewill move northeastward to lie over Belle Isle Bank tonight, and then
northeast of the district on Tuesday. Gale to storm force south to
southeasterlies ahead of the low will shift to gale to storm force
southwest to northwesterlies in its wake.
Marine interests are advised storm warnings are in effect for Strait
of Belle Isle - eastern half, Belle Isle Bank, and Funk Island Bank.
Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters except
Southwestern Grand Banks.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, and Northeast Coast.
